Before commencing electrical installation work, electricians must ensure that the working environment is voltage-free. A voltage detector is required to locate AC electric fields or suspected fault causes. A first indication of whether the installation is actually voltage-free can be obtained with the contactless Wiha voltage detector, thanks to the visual and acoustic signalling. After switching on, the permanently lit green LED indicates that the tool is ready for use. During the voltage check, depending on the strength of the AC electric field, the LEDs light up from blue (weak) through orange to red (strong). Two AAA batteries are required for operation, which are included in delivery. When the device is not used for more than 4 minutes, it switches off automatically to save energy. With an integrated LED, the measuring location can be illuminated in the dark. It can also be used as a flashlight by manually switching it on and off. Thanks to its handy size, the voltage tester with clip easily fits in any breast or trouser pocket. Thanks to the internationally adapted measuring tip, the voltage tester is suitable for all variants of sockets worldwide. The single-pole voltage detector complies with the standard EN 61010-1 / EN-IEC 61326 and is intended for CAT IV 1,000 VAC.
